First of all here's a terrifying tidbit from my childhood: the story of tailypo. I first heard this folk tale on a tour through some campgrounds. We hiked to a little one room cabin where this "true story" took place. A man living during "pioneer" times lived alone. One night a strange foxlike creature comes to his home and the gentleman eats its tail. Not surprisingly the creature is a bit upset and returns for his "tailypoo" with gruesome results. At least that's how I heard it.
